TULSA, OK - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is hiring Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) to work at Tulsa International Airport (TUL). There are 24 full- and part-time positions currently available at TUL. Starting annual salary for TSOs in TUL is $34,446 ($16.52 per hour).

“TSA at TUL has immediate openings for those who want to join our first-class transportation security team,” said TSA Deputy Assistant Federal Security Director for Tulsa Geno Costantino. “If you are looking for a job with excellent benefits, a fast-paced environment, and a day that’s never the same twice, come see what we have to offer.”

To accelerate the hiring process, TSA is participating in a TUL recruitment event Tuesday, May 25. It will take place at the TUL Airport located at 7777Airport Drive, Tulsa, OK 74115, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Applicants can go to center entrance to Schwab Hall, near rental car counters. Please park in the parking garage across the street from the terminal, TUL will offer free parking to attendees.

Based on anticipated seasonal travel trends in the months ahead and the fact that the COVID-19 vaccination is available to the general public, TSA launched local and national efforts to recruit new employees in support of security screening operations.

TSOs at TUL are federal employees. Benefits include paid training, annual and sick leave, health care plans for full- and part-time employees and a generous retirement plan. TSA does not prorate benefits for part-time workers, and veteran’s preference is not required to join the agency.

After six months, TSOs are eligible for pay increases and those who work early mornings, evenings and Sundays receive a shift differential. Overtime opportunities, which are paid at time and a half, are frequently available. TSA is committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment and encourages individuals of all backgrounds to apply.

At the Job Fair, interested candidates will be able to obtain information about the role of a TSO, speak with actual TSOs onsite, and acquire information about the process of applying to become a TSO and the next steps once an application has been accepted by TSA.  These would include, taking a computer-based test to evaluate aptitude and English language proficiency and participate in a structured interview session.
