PORTLAND,Ore. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is holding several Fast Track hiring events early next week to recruit full- and part-time Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) to work at Portland International Airport (PDX).

The events will be held Monday and Tuesday, March 12-13, at the Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel, 8235 NE Airport Way in Portland. Session start times are 8:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. each day. Applicants should arrive 15 mins. prior to the start of the session and bring two valid forms of state or federal identification. Limited complimentary parking is available at the Sheraton.

“This is a great opportunity for people to begin or continue a career with the Federal government at one of the nation’s best airports.  These Fast Track hiring events will ensure that the best candidates will be onboard with TSA before the busy summer travel season, which is a win-win for both potential new hires and TSA” said Mike Irwin, TSA Federal Security Director for Portland International Airport (PDX).

During each session, TSA officials will discuss the duties of a TSO and the application process. They also will provide an overview of working for the federal government and discuss benefits, which include paid leave, health care plans for full- and part-time employees and 401k coverage. Starting pay is $16.60 per hour.

After the information sessions, those who are interested in moving forward will be able take a computer-based aptitude test, participate in a structured interview to assess qualifications, and schedule a drug screening and medical exam. Applicants can apply for the positions on-site, but are encouraged to apply early at USAjobs.gov.
